Teriyaki is a kind of sauce most popular in Japan. Chicken cooked in teriyaki sauce on a wide hot pan is known as chicken teriyaki. I had tasted it in Sarku Japan, New Jersey. They offer a sample of chicken teriyaki pieces whenever you cross that eatery and you will like it at the very first attempt. It's a sweet sauce though, you might not fall in love with it if you prefer spicy food.
Ingredients:
1 garlic clove nicely minced
1 tsp grated ginger
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp gingelly oil
1 pound of chicken pieces
Steps:
1. In a heavy bottomed pan, add oil. Once it's warmed up add ginger and garlic. Saute for a minute.
2. Then add chicken pieces and saute it well for 8-9 minutes. Now the chicken is half cooked.

3. Add soy sauce and brown sugar. Stir well and cook it in high flame for another 5-6 minutes.

4. The gravy gets thicker as the sugar melts and gets mixed with the chicken.

5. If you need more sauce, go ahead and add a little bit of soy sauce. Switch off the flame.
6. You can serve chicken teriyaki immediately with a cup of cooked rice and boiled vegetables of your choice.

7. Chicken teriyaki tastes much better when served hot!
