I have recently bought chocolate chips from the grocery store. From then onwards, i tried to make few dishes using the chocolate chip. Here is one such recipe, eggless wheat butter choc chip cookies. Uff, the name is lengthy - isn't, well that's because I wanted the name to be as descriptive as possible. Let's see the list of items we would need to bake these cookies.

Ingredients:
1.5 cups of whole wheat flour
3-4 tbsp brown sugar / white sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence (optional)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chip
1/2 cup milk
Steps:
1. Preheat the oven at 385 degress Fahrenhiet for atleast 15 minutes.
2. In a bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients like oil, melted butter, vanilla essence and milk.

3. To this bowl, add wheat flour and baking soda using a strainer/sieve.

Tip: Straining the flour before baking helps to give a puffy texture in the end product.
4. Then add sugar.

5. Using a spatula mix together the wet and dry ingredients. No need to knead the dough.

6. Throw in chocolate chips to the bowl. Mix it once so the chocolate chips blend with the dough. Cookie dough is ready!

7. Line a baking tray with parchment paper (this step is totally optional). You can also butter a baking tray and place the cookies directly on the tray.

8. Take a spoonful of dough and place it in the tray.

9. Using the spoon, flatten the cookie dough to get an approximately round shape. I say approximately because the perfect round shape is not required for a cookie and the irregular shape is the beauty of a chocolate chip cookie! :)

Tip: You can also flatten the cookies using your hands.
10. Repeat the steps for remaining dough and place them on the baking tray. Now, keep the baking tray in the centre rack of the oven and bake for 20-22 minutes on 385 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also check in between at 17-18 minutes if the cookies are baked.

11. Remove the cookie tray from the oven and let it cool.

Tip: If you need the cookies to be crispier, then you can bake it for an additional 3-4 minutes. I have baked the cookies for about 22 minutes since my family likes it crispy. Here the base of the cookies has turned brown in colour and hence they are crispier.

12. Eggless wheat butter choc chip cookies are ready to eat! You can serve them with hot tea or coffee. Kids love this recipe as they look chocolaty delicious.
