Coconut macaroon can be a good snack which is made with simple ingredients such as coconut, sugar, egg white. This is a type of cookie baked using the conventional oven.

Ingredients:
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup sugar, white or brown
1 cardamom
a pinch of salt
1 egg white
2 tsp all purpose flour
How to make coconut macaroons:
1. In a pan, fry the grated coconut till it start to change its color from white to light brown. Switch off the flame at this time and let it cool.

Tip: Use fresh coconut for better results.

2. In a bowl, add egg white and a pinch of salt.

3. Whisk the egg white till it becomes frothy.

4. Powder the sugar along with a cardamom in a mixer.

5. Now, add the powdered sugar to the beaten egg white. Whisk it again.


6. Add fried grated coconut and whisk again.


7. Add 2 tsp of all purpose flour and mix it all together.

8. Refrigerate the mixture for about 40 minutes to firm up.

9. Preheat the oven to 350 degree fahrenheit or 180 degree C for 15 minutes.
10. In a baking tray, place the parchment paper as the macaroons tend to stick to the bottom of the tray.

11. Scoop a spoonful of coconut mixture on the parchment paper, 2 inches apart.

12. Bake for 20-25 minutes. First you can bake for 20 minutes and then check if it is done. If not bake it for another 2-3 minutes till done. It usually depends on the oven you use.


13. Voila! coconut macaroons are ready to enjoy as evening tea time snacks.
