Marble pound cake looks delightful and colorful as it has both cocoa and the white cake batter in it. The design however depends on the swirl you give it to the batter as final finish before baking. The was moist and dense. Let's see how to make the marble pound cake.

This is an eggless version of marble pound cake. I substituted yogurt in place of eggs. The texture of the cake is dense and moist at the same time.

Ingredients:
1.5 cups of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of cocoa powder
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup of oil
1/2 cup of hot water
3/4 cup of yogurt or curd
1/2 tsp baking soda
How to make marble pound cake:
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F for atleast 15 minutes. Grease a loaf pan with oil and then dust it with flour. Keep it ready.
2. Sieve together flour and baking soda.
3. In a mixing bowl, add a cup of sugar.
4. Then add oil.
5. Then vanilla essence.
6. Mix together using a whisk.
7. Finally add hot water and mix again. Wet ingredients are ready.
8. Add flour + baking soda mixture to the wet ingredients.
9. Mix it well without forming lumps.
10. Now, add beaten yogurt/curd.
11. Mix well till yogurt blends with the batter.
12. Divide the batter into two equal proportions.
13. Add cocoa powder to one bowl of batter and whisk well.
14. Cocoa and white cake batter are ready.
15. Pour the white cake batter onto the greased loaf pan.
16. Then pour cocoa batter on top of the white cake batter.
17. Alternatively add white batter and cocoa batter.
18. Using a tooth pick play around the batter to form swirls.
19. Do not over do the swirls, as it might confuse the batter and you would end up having a poor design.
20. Transfer the loaf pan to the oven immediately and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the centre comes out clean.
Tip: The cake batter needs to be transferred to the loaf pan immediately as soon as the batter is ready.

21. Let it cool down for 5 minutes.
22. Remove the marble loaf cake by inverting the loaf pan.

23. Slice and serve!
24. The cake tasted delicious and i ended up eating more pieces and finished it off the same day.

25. Do give it a try on weekends and share the sweetness with your family and loved ones :)
