Halwa - a sweet variety that could be made using flour. fruits like apple, mango, vegetables like ash gourd etc. Here we are going to see an instant halwa recipe using custard powder which requires minimum amount of time as compared to traditional wheat flour halwa.

Ingredients:
1 cup custard powder
3.5 cups of sugar
1 tbsp chopped almonds or cashews
1/2 cup ghee
3.5 cups water
1. In a heavy bottomed pan mix custard powder, sugar and water without any lumps.




2. Heat the pan on high flame and keep stirring continuously.

3. Once a glossy consistency is reached, keep the flame to medium and continue to stir.


4. Add few spoons of ghee at constant intervals and stir.

5. Halwa starts to leave the sides of the pan and is almost done. Now add chopped nuts (almonds) and mix well.


6. Turn off the flame and transfer the contents to a plate greased with ghee.

7. Pat the plate so that halwa spreads onto the plate evenly.

8. Let it cool down for about 20-30 minutes. Then cut into desired shapes and serve.

9. Voila! Delicious custard halwa is ready.
