Chilli mushroom is an amazing mouth watering recipe with minimal ingredients and it definitely calls for less expertise in cooking. Yes! anyone can make it. I tried it for the first time today and totally loving it. I had it for tempered curd rice and yum was the word to describe the combo. I gobbled up the curd rice with this chilli mushroom just in few minutes. Here is the recipe in detail

Ingredients:
1 large onion
200 gms of button mushrooms
2 green chillies, slit
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
a sprig of curry leaves
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1 tbsp cooking oil
Steps:
1. Heat a non-stick pan or a tawa with a tbsp of oil. Add onions. Meanwhile wash the mushrooms and slice them.
2. Cook until translucent. When the onions are about to turn into brown color, add green chillies and curry leaves.

3. Cook for a minute.

4. Then add the sliced mushrooms and fry for a minute.

5. Add all spice powders including salt and saute. Mushrooms start releasing water.

6. Once water is all dried up, oil starts oozing out.

7. By now, mushrooms are thoroughly cooked and almost roasted in the masala.

8. Add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.

9. Serve the chilli mushroom as a starter or as a side dish for rice or roti or poori/dosa.
