Sea foods are one of my favorite and they get cooked quickly too. Today's recipe is all about crabs. Crab is one of my favorite sea foods and i love to eat crab gravy for white rice.
An amateur cook can also easily make this crab recipe. Do try this out and share your valuable feedback.
Ingredients:
250 gms of crab
2 green chillies
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
1 medium sized tomato, finely chopped
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 sprig of curry leaves
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp cooking oil
salt to taste
1 cup water
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste or roughly pounded fresh ginger garlic.
How to make crab gravy:
Clean the crabs by removing the outer shell. Wash them thoroughly and separate the larger legs from each crab.
In a mixer jar, blend together coconut and green chillies together with little bit of water to a smooth paste.
Heat a wok, add oil. Add fennel seeds and a sprig of curry leaves. After few seconds, add onions and ginger garlic. Saute till the raw smell of ginger garlic goes away. Then add chopped tomatoes and salt.
Cook till tomatoes become mushy. Add turmeric powder. Add crab.
Cook for a minute. Then add ground coconut chilly paste.
Check for seasoning and adjust for salt accordingly.
Add water as per your consistency. Bring it to boil and simmer down for about 6-7 minutes.
Voila! yummy crab gravy is ready. Serve the crab gravy with hot white rice.
